Ratt and Motley Crue coexisted in the mid-to-late 1980s Sunset Strip scene, and the Crue were obviously the more successful of the two bands, a result of their songwriting as much as their 250mph personalities. But listening to this new “Ratt”-rospective, it’s striking how sonically incestuous the LA pop-metal scene really was.
